Step Up to Group 1

Horses which ran in a Group 2 or 3 contest last time out have won 7 of the last 16 renewals of the July Cup.  This is 24% above expectations. Today's runners which qualify are Slade Power and Gale Force Ten.    

July Cup Sire Statistics

We have added a new tool for analysing sires in our recent release of version 1.86 of Proform and we have used this tool to look for the best sires on Good to Firm ground, which are running in the July Cup. Three sires stand out. Slade Power's sire wins 55% more races than expected on Good to Firm ground Hamza's sire wins 52% more races than expected on Good to Firm ground Gale Force Ten's sire wins 13% more races than expected on Good to Firm ground    

Andrew Balding

Andrew Balding has an excellent record in the Handicaps at the July Festival winning 6 of them from 35 runners since his first runner in 2003.  backing them all would have produced a £36 profit to a £1 bet at SP and they are winning 154% more races than expected based on the prices they are sent off. Today he runs :- Highland Colori in the 15:15 (Bunbury Cup)
