Your Notes, Your Prices, Your Ratings: A Morning on RaceMetrics
Plenty of form students keep their own notes on horses, price a race up themselves, and rate the winner by hand. RaceMetrics now does all three in the browser, on any device. The video above is what a morning looks like once your method has moved in.
On the card
My Card gives you a racecard built from your own columns, with three you write in yourself: your rating, your price and a Book tick. Type a price as a fraction or a decimal and it shows as the fraction; a running book total builds under the heading, and reserves are marked with an R and kept outside the book until you tick them in.
Under each runner sits your own note, saved against the horse rather than the race, so it is still there the next time that horse runs. The horse's profile carries a My Notes tab with a General note and one for each race type.
In the form
Open the form under any runner and a layoff shows as its own line between the runs, with the day count yours to set. Green lines mark the run where something changed for the first time, and when today's runner carries the change it sits above the first line. The Breeding tab lists every sibling in one table, with a plain-English sentence drafted and added to your note in one click.
Rate the winner
If your method is to rate the winner and work the rest out from it, My Ratings lays out the day race by race. Type your figure for the winner and every beaten horse is derived on your own pounds-per-length scale, with weight-for-age applied and weight carried switchable. Edit the scale later and every race you have rated is re-derived. Winner sheets import back to January 2018, and the My Last column shows each horse's last few figures from your set on the card.
