Where did the in-running report go?
If you used the Proform desktop software, you'll know its in-running reports: every horse on the day's cards with a habit of trading a long way below its Betfair starting price (BSP) in running. A returning member asked us where they had gone. They are in the System Builder now, one click away, and the video shows the whole route.
One click on the Trade tab
Open Bet Finder in the System Builder and pick the Trade tab. Two of the Proform Bet Finder's own buttons are built from those desktop reports: Likely Back-to-Lay, and Possible Back-to-Lay, the broader of the two. Start a system from Possible and two rules drop in: a short career so far, with Flat and jumps runs counted separately, and in more than half of those runs, the horse traded at half its starting price or shorter.
Today, tomorrow and every morning
The new system opens straight onto today's qualifiers: every horse on today's cards that fits, at every meeting, in off-time order, with tomorrow's a tab away. Save it and it stays switched on, feeding Today's Qualifiers, one page for all your switched-on systems. One switch there emails you the list each morning.
Why a horse is on the list
Open a qualifier's racecard and click the horse. Each run on its form lines shows the Betfair starting price, the lowest price it traded at in running, and how far below the starting price that was, in red when it traded shorter.
Two things to check before you act on one. Winning runs count too, because a winner's price nearly always collapses in running, so look at the outcome. And a long shot can halve a big price without ever threatening to win. It's a habit worth knowing, not a promise for today.
Your own thresholds
Add a rule and search for "traded", and the desktop's reports are there as filters:
- Horse Lower Than 50% In Running: Traded 50%+ Below BSP In-Running (% of runs)
- Horse Lower Than 70% In Running: Traded 70%+ Below BSP In-Running (% of runs)
- Horse Less Than 2.0 In Running: Runs Traded Below 2.0 In-Running
They count a horse's whole career in that code. To count only its last few runs, Ask RaceMetrics answers it in one question: back-to-lay candidates in one question.
The System Builder, and the in-running columns on your form lines, come with RaceMetrics Pro and Proform Premium. See the plans.
